Abstract

The composition and seasonal changes in the benthic algae of the Beykavağı Pond within Konya borders have been periodically studied through April 2010 and March 2011. Moreover, some physical and chemical values of the pond water was included as variable. In general,
Ochrophyta were dominant in terms of species number and abundance during the study period. A total of 77 taxa belonging to 6 divisions have been identified, including Ochrophyta (35 taxa), Cyanobacteria (22 taxa), Chlorophyta (14 taxa), Charophyta (3 taxa), Euglenophyta
(2 taxa) and Myzozoa (1 taxa). Seasonal rises have been dense through whole period except winter season.
